My Son
Tonight at dinner Colin asked if we could go on a walk. Kelly said she didn't feel like it, Emma said "nope I'm staying home", and Clint said he was tired. I was the only one who said yes. He had mentioned to me that he wanted to run some of it. So we walked/jogged to the highschool track which is about 1.5 miles from our house. I gave him some pointers when we were jogging, like pacing himself, and breathing, etc. Then when we got to the track he said he wanted to race me 1 lap. So we did that and he kicked my butt. Then we walked another lap. Then we headed back home. Wow I've always thought about how great it would be to have one of my kids join me in a run. I can't even explain how great it was :-) I wanted to cry. And when I saw him running on the track and his strength and everything. It just amazes me! We were running up a hill and I said "Colin Laskowski, just like Lance Armstrong, cancer survivor, olympic track star -- woohooo". lol Lance was the topic of Colin's hero paper he had to write last week. If I had to do a hero paper, it would be on Colin :-) . My son, the survivor! I'm so proud of him. Did I mention that he hit a triple in his softball game last night?
Also Emma again this morning wouldn't go in the pool for her lesson. She thinks the pool is way too big and didn't think she could touch the bottom. She wouldn't even try to see if she could. So this afternoon I took her back to the pool for open swim. I got in the water with her and showed her that she really could stand and touch the bottom. She went in and was so happy to see that she could. She then did all of the things the teacher has been showing the kids the past 2 days. Mission accomplished. Her teacher was lifeguarding and got to see her go in, etc. Emma kept going over by her to tell her she was doing it. After swimming we showered, etc and headed over to Winkie's for her to get a treat -- a Hello Kitty Pez dispenser/candy.
Little Miss No problem swimming at Grandpa & Grandma's pool!
