Tues.
We have a full day planned here today, so I got up earlier and got on the treadmill first thing. I did a 4.1 mile power walk with incline. Kelly has an orthodontist appointment this morning. This afternoon we are meeting my sister and two nephews at the pool in Brookfield. And tonight I have an appt at the blood center to give blood. I got a call from Children's Hospital yesterday (Margaret, Colin's nurse practitioner). The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is looking for someone to go to Madison and speak in front of Congress about cord blood donations. She wanted to know if I am interested in doing that. ME -- the biggest chicken when it comes to public speaking?!?! She didn't have any of the details. I told her she could give them my name. They will call me with details. I'm feeling like this is a calling for me to do something with our experience over the past 8 years. I'm petrified at the thought, but do want to make the public aware of the fact that cord blood can save lives. Will journal when I know more.
